Life After Sheen

By Eric Zanzucchi (@ericzanzucchi)

A few seasons ago the future of Two and a Half Men was in doubt. Charlie Sheen was running his mouth about being a superior human being and his heroin use. I’m not a fan of the show, but it’s one of the highest rated shows on television. They replaced Sheen with Ashton Kutcher and the show seemed to have regained it’s footing.

Less than two years later another one of the show’s stars is running their mouth.

The ‘half’ of Two and a Half Men, Angus T. Jones (age 19), has recently embraced God. With Christianity comes the belief that Two and a Half Men is “filth”. He went as far as to say “if you watch Two and a Half Men please stop”.

I’ve got news for you Angus, that “filth” is your meal ticket for the rest of your life. You were cast for this role at age 9 not based on your acting ability but simply because you had the right ‘look’ (i.e. fat kid). If your acting career was based on ability you never would have worked. Why don’t you do what all sensible people in your line of business do? You should shut up and extend the good time as long as you can. This all makes me wonder what kind of clueless managers and agents are advising him.

Because of all of this, Two and a Half Men’s unique place in TV history has gotten more bizarre. It has been a top rated show that most people thought wasn’t very good. It’s now had two of the three core cast members commit career suicide for very different reasons
